Some big shoes to fill - Harvard Newborn Photographer

Did I mention how much I love babies?! So VERY cute they are.

Jordan is the newest arrival to the family. With the name, he has some big shoes to fill. As far as his Daddy and Mommy are concerned, he's already done that.

Seeing new parents is such a neat time in life to witness; the happiness that comes along or maybe it's the lack of sleep. I had taken Josh & DeAnn's maternity session a while back, and we mentioned some ideas for Jordan's session. DeAnn really wanted him in an apple bucket since he would be born in the late fall.

As all new parents figure out...Jordan had some other ideas. Jordan mastered the sleeping baby picture. However when it came to anything to do with the apple bucket, he figured out how to inch his way out, or turn his head. He wanted nothing to do with it. It was okay though.

Enjoy the days of him being so little, it goes away so fast. Congrats to Josh & DeAnn!

Little Miss Makenna - Rockford Newborn Photographer

I love babies. Their little sounds they make, faces, and that new baby smell (the baby lotion one!).

Josh and Heather asked me to come and "play" with baby Makenna, now just shy of four weeks old. I was thrilled, especially after doing their maternity session not too long ago.

Makenna did such a great job in her first photo session! Josh was a great help, as all he had to do was talk to Makenna and he caught her attention immediately. I'm sensing a little bit of a Daddy's Girl.

Robert & Jessi - Beloit Wedding/Family Photographer

When Jessi and Robert had originally discussed the planning of the engagement session, Jessi had mentioned wanting the fall colors. This fall the colors have been interesting, to say the least. Most of the leaves went from green to the ground practically overnight. After realizing, we searched for somewhere that had some sort of leaves left. The original date of the session, we woke up to rain - not a sprinkle - an all out thunderstorm. Pushing a session back in October can be rather risky in the north, as it can be anywhere from 20 to 80.

The second date came, the weather was beautiful, and they brought along Robert's daughter, Hailey, for some pictures too! With all the frustrations of rearranging to begin with - it worked out in their favor!

I brought along my husband, Matt, who is a great support and business partner. Not only does he do a great job helping to haul my stuff, blocking the sun or holding down some weeds (in this session!), but during some weddings this year he's caught some great pictures!

I still enjoy giving him a hard time about being the "bag boy" - and it made for some interesting laughs, and some beautiful natural pictures with Robert and Jessi!

Enjoy your sneak peek! We are looking forward to your September 2011 wedding!

The Gilg Family - Rockford Family Photographer

In January of 2010, I volunteered my time and covered a fundraiser for the RACH (Rockford Area Coalition for the Homeless). I donated a session for the auction, in which the Gilg Family won.

We went out to play at Sinnissippi Park in Rockford, IL. We had fun and captured some great pictures of their beautiful family.

A Surprise Vow Renewal 25th Anniversary - Rockford Event Photographer

Several months ago I was contacted by Tiffany regarding covering her parents 25th Wedding Anniversary Party. This was an honor, as I grew up in Kishwaukee Baptist Church in Rockford, Illinois where her dad, David McDaniel is the pastor.

She mentioned a few details and that they were planning on surprising their parents with a vow renewal ceremony. I was in awe, wondering how the children were going to pull this off, without someone spilling the beans. As far as Pastor & Tammy knew, they were having an open house celebrating their anniversary.

The party was held at the beautiful Briggs Mansion in Rockford.

Tammy had her wedding dress on display in the Bride's room upstairs. It looks like it just fit right in!

Tammy's mother made the cake for them.

In order to set up for the ceremony, I was told to take them outside to take pictures of just the two of them. Not only was I taking pictures, but asking tons of questions about how Dave proposed, their wedding, where they went on a honeymoon. I was nervous just holding them outside.

Tiffany came out to bring them inside (and rescue me) and they both were surprised.

After 25 years, alongside their children, they renewed their vows.

Congratulations to Pastor David & Tammy on 25 years and a renewal!

A Baptism Morning - Beloit Children's Photographer

I met with Rachel and family the morning before her baptism for a quick family session at Horase White Park in Beloit, WI. Rachel wasn't too accepting of smiling for the camera, more so gave me a look. We managed to catch some good ones.

Some grand baby fun - Roscoe Children's Photographer

Last week had the opportunity to meet with Deb and her grand-babies. She just had a new arrival to the family, and the others were in town visiting. The older boys weren't exactly thrilled to be having their picture taken, but with some laughs from Grandma we caught a few.

We managed to catch some cute pictures! Enjoy your sneak peek!

A Stanley Cup Win - Roscoe/Rockton/South Beloit Family Photographer

I met with Michael & Noel for some family pictures Wednesday afternoon. Michael is a die hard Chicago Blackhawks fan and it they were scheduled to play to possibly win the Stanley Cup an hour into our photo session.

I knew that Michael wasn't shaving his beard during the playoffs on superstitions, so when I met them at their home and realized he had shaved his face - I was a worried photographer. All I could think of was that he shaved, the Blackhawks would lose, and I'd be the culprit of it. So when they brought out the jerseys to wear in some pictures, I could feel my nervousness rise.

We quickly took all the family pictures so Michael could rush home to watch the game. Needless to say I rushed home to watch too. I know Michael was pacing after the game went into overtime, as I was too.

Thankfully, the Blackhawks got the one needed goal to WIN the Stanley Cup.

Some play time fun! - Roscoe/Rockton Family Photographer

On Saturday, we met with two adorable little girls and their Mommy & Daddy for some late spring pictures.

Mommy had some great ideas of pictures that she'd like, so we traveled to three locations to attempt the "art work" picture. The girls definately enjoyed the last location where they were allowed to get in the water and play!

The girls looked so cute in their matching outfits, and willing to smile for the camera. We had some fun and a lot of laughs while capturing some adorable family photos.
